Oberheim DX

Digital soul with analog punch.
The Oberheim DX is a vintage digital drum machine introduced in 1982 as a more affordable alternative to the DMX. It features 18 sampled drum sounds, 6-voice polyphony, and individual tuning knobs for each drum voice. The DX offers a swing function, rolls, flams, and other timing variations to emulate human feel. Its user-friendly interface and classic sound have made it a favorite among producers seeking that authentic ’80s vibe.
The DX’s drum sounds are stored on replaceable EPROM chips, allowing users to swap out sounds—a feature that contributed to its popularity among artists like Daft Punk and Jimi Tenor.
